Educational building of the higher aviation college was built in 1894 - 1899, according to the project of V. Ivanovsky for arrangement of children's orphan's home and old people's and invalid's home. Three-storied building, large in extension, of red brick combines in itself elements of Russian architecture and later directions in architecture. |

The building of State bank was built in 1905; it is kept up in the form of late eclecticism. Dissymmetric construction of the main front is projected taking into account perception of a passing-by man, which is able to estimate beauty and variety of building as far as he goes by. Shode preserved a three-piece front composition and emphasizes side parts of the building. |

The building represents an excellent example of the city wooden building up of the 2nd half of the 19th century. In 1870-s the house was several times reconstructed and strengthened. According to the project of the architect M. Kostin over south part of the house was erected a mezzanine floor and attached two-storied annex. The present exterior front the house acquired in 1891. |

The city estate house by the 19th - the beginning of the 20th century was characterized by plastic volume intensification and composition skewness, self-dependency of completion. The house of merchant Shatrov is built in the style of late eclecticism. It's not proved documentary, but it is rather possible that the author of the project for Shatrov's house was A.A. Shode - the most famous architect among prosperous noblemen of Simbirsk of the beginning of the 20th century. |

House-monument to I.A. Goncharov was projected by Simbirsk architect A. Shode. The foundation was laid in 1912, in the day of centennial anniversary of the birthday of the writer. The building was completed in 1915. The construction with round corner tower, rising over high Volga bank, became the symbol of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk. |

Building of the Philharmonic Society was erected in 1909-1910 according to the project of the city architect - Fedor Livchak for the public assembly. Later here was accomodated the Popular house, the Palace of working culture, the movie theater "Red Star", the garment factory, and since 1947 - the Philharmonic Society. Place where the building is situated in the boulevard "Novyi Venets" represents itself a spit of a cape, from which is opened vast panorama of Volga and the Volga expanses. |

One-storied house with mezzanine was built in 1851 in Moskovskaya Street according to the project of architect A.S. Chichagov for Philistine N.A. Chernova. In 1872 the house, by the project of architect T.G. Zhegalov assumed modern appearance. Originality of the house appearance is determined by verandah of the front door elongated along the principal front. Mezzanine window is decorated with a modest platband. |

The project "The building of Simbirsk district state authority", created by A.I. Dmitriev in 1902 became the winner of the contest, declared by the Imperial society of architects. Monumental and elegant three-storied building became an example of modern architecture and promoted penetration of new professional tendencies to Simbirsk architecture. |

The house, which is situated in the central street of the city, was built in 1860-s and was rebuilt several times. V.A. Aratskov was the last owner who realized capital reconstruction of the house in 1910. The form of bay window with a balcony and distinctive ornamental pattern of frieze allow us to suppose that in the last rebuilding of the house took part F.O. Livchak. |

The house frequently passed to different owners, with one of which in 1833 stayed A.S. Pushkin. At the beginning of the 20th century the house was bought by Simbirsk merchant A. Sachkov and was reconstructed under the project of architect A. Shode in the style of French Renaissance with the use of new materials: metal, glass, glazed facing slabs. |

The house of Yazykovs family was built at the turn of the 18th - 19th century in classicism style. One of the few monuments of history and architecture that preserved to present days, belonged to the noble family of Yazykovs, from which came the poet Nikolay Mikhailovich Yazykov and his brother - scientist-geologist and specialist in folklor Petr Mikhailovich Yazykov. |

Remunerative House of Tokarev at the first floor of which were situated shops, at the second - apartments, and in the building, attached to yard front - a printing house, represents one of the best architectural monuments of neoclassicism in Simbirsk. The building is situated at the corner of Goncharova St. and D.Ulyanova St., and together with the building of the Public mutual loan forms the unified ensemble of the central part of the city. |

House of Ermolov family is a cottage of noble family of the end of the 18th century. Here, conceivably, was born the poet Nikolay Yazykov. In 1902 the cottage was sold to the land-owning lady, E. Persy-French. In 1920-1930 in this building was occupied by the Arts Museum, and now here is the regional military registration and enlistment office. |

The house of former nobility assembly was built in 1847 according to the project of the architect I. Benzeman, and then was reconstructed by the project of M. Kupinsky. In addition to "Noble Assembly" as the nobility club was called, and to the apartment of the regional head of nobility, here were situated the District state authority and other organizations. |

The house was built in 1906 by the project of A. Shode with the elements of French Renaissance style, and now it is an example of aristocratic private residence. It is situated at the territory of the manor of Lenin house-museum, and from 1941 till 1970 it was used for branch of the Central Lenin museum. Since 1992 here is situated A.Plastov museum of fine arts. |

It was built at the end of the 17th century at the corner of B. Saratovskaya St. (Goncharova St.) and Moskovskaya St. (Lenina St.). Until 1864 it belonged to Goncharovs family. Here on the 18th of June 1812 was born the writer I.A. Goncharov. The house hasn't remained in its original form: at the end of the 19th century to the house was attached an annex of red brick, erected the third floor, broadened windows, and the old Goncharov's house was faced with new brick brickwork with figured brick. |

Zakharov (the author of the Admiralty in St. Petersburg) at the end of the 19th century in the style of Russian classicism. This is one of the oldest monuments of stone architecture in Simbirsk and the first of present buildings at Venets. It initiated forming of the "Main Front" of the city from the part of the Volga River. |

Raise of mass building of public constructions of the last quarter of the 19th century coincided with searches of Russian national originality, based on use of architectural forms and motives of the 16th-17th centuries. In Simbirsk the example of this direction was the complex of houses of district country council, where now is situated garrison house of officers. |

Remunerative House of N.S. Zelenkov with the movie theater "Ampir" was built in 1913. It was the first building in Simbirsk, specially constructed for "artistic first-class electro theater". Details, which decorate the house, were first used in constructions of the architect F.O. Livchak, what allows us to consider him to be the project author of this building. Now the building is occupied by the movie theater "Khudozhestvenny". |

For Ulyanovsk musical college was assigned one of the best buildings of the city - former building of the town council, erected in the center of Simbirsk at the corner of Nikolskaya and Spasskaya Streets in 1840-1844. |

Ulyanovsk is the city with theatrical traditions. The first theater was built in 1846 in Bolshaya Saratovskaya Street (now Goncharova Street) at the place of its intersection with Lisina Street (now K. Libknekhta Street) and existed till 1879. The constructor of it was bourgeois of the city Slepnev. In 1879 the building of the theater was demolished. |

Religious school (architect M.G. Alakrinsky, 1891 - 1893) is the educational institution for preparation to entrance to theological seminary and for psalm-readers. It arose in 1818 on the base of Russian college, transferred in 1803 from Saransk. First the college was arranged in Pokrovsky and then in Spassky monastery. |

House of the architect F. Livchak is the only example of private residence for an individual family, made of concrete blocks. This is one of the best examples of architecture of modernist style in the city. The house was built in 1914 by F. Livchak for his family. In the middle of 1980-s the restored cottage was handed to the Union of theater figures of Russia and since then is known as "Actor's House". |
